How it works

A short guide to the layout, settings and how your choices are saved.

How you move through the prayer

The prayer is shown step by step in a scroll view, grouped into Opening, Decade 1-5 and Closing. Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom, or the arrow keys, to move on. The view then jumps to the right step. You can also scroll freely. The active step updates automatically. Longer texts can be read by scrolling within the step without changing steps.

The arrow keys on the keyboard also work: left and up go back, right and down go forward. The counter in the footer always shows which step you are on (e.g. "Step 5 of 30"). Below that you can see the prayer name, or how many times you have repeated a prayer (e.g. "3 of 10"). The step you are on is shown in full colour. Other steps are greyed out.

Beside the prayer text there is an overview that marks where you are: opening, decade and closing, with ten dots under Hail Mary. Under Advanced → Display you can turn it off.

Language and mysteries

In the top navigation you can choose prayer language (English or Latin), which controls the language of the prayer texts. The choice is saved automatically.

Mysteries can be chosen manually (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious or Luminous) or follow today's mysteries. Tap the subtitle under The Rosary in the navbar to switch. It shows which mystery set is active.

Settings

The Advanced button in the top navigation opens the settings panel. There you can pick a preset as a starting point, for example standard, Fatima tradition, minimal, Latin and more.

Under Display you can turn the rosary diagram on or off. Under the presets you can fine-tune the structure: creed, Fatima prayers, Hail Mary mode, closing prayers and more. In Prayer variants you can choose the exact version of each prayer.

Changes in the settings panel are not saved until you press Save. Cancel discards unsaved changes.

Saved settings

Language, mysteries and settings are stored in the browser's localStorage. They remain the next time you visit the page, even without an account or login.

Prayer stats, meaning when you prayed and how far you got, are also stored locally. See My stats. They are not sent to any server and do not sync between devices.

If you clear browser data or use private/incognito mode, your settings and stats disappear. They do not sync between devices or browsers.

Which step you are on in an ongoing prayer is not saved. The page starts over from the beginning on reload, or when you change language, mysteries or settings. History from earlier sessions remains in the stats.

Sharing is completely optional. On Share you can choose a greeting and send it via your device's own share menu. Nothing is sent automatically from the page.

About the texts

Each prayer has two expanders: "About this prayer" with background on the prayer's origin and source, and "Settings" where you can turn the prayer off if you already know it and change settings that apply to that prayer, for example prayer variant, creed or optional closing prayers. Turned-off prayers disappear from the prayer flow and can be turned on again under Settings → Prayers. These changes are saved immediately, unlike the settings panel which requires Save.

If a prayer has no text in the chosen language, a message is shown with the option to switch to Swedish directly.
